1. What specifically have you learned from this project? Don't only think in terms of the work you made, but also through the discussions during critique of others in the class. I have learned a lot about composition and color palettes. Since I haven’t focused lot on painting I never had to worry about colors clashing but now that I am attempting to paint more I am seeing that color combinations can make or break a piece. During critique I learned that my new direction is a one and I should continue with the animal/human concept driven work I am try to move into.
2. If this project is assigned in the future, how might it be tweaked to enhance the overall learning experience for all students? I think that the junk mail part is unnecessary, yes it forces students to think and be more creative but I honestly didn’t need it. If I would have included it think it would have ruined my piece.
3. How have your thoughts about design changed through because of this project. I have realized that sizing, spacing and type are very important when working. At first I hated this project but this is the first assignment I have had in 3 year that has actually influenced me to the point of changing m entire style. This project changed my outlook on my art and art in general. I think this project is extremely important.
4. What changes would you make if you had the opportunity to re-work the image you created? I would have thought out the type a little more and planned out the proportions so I could have fit in all the elements from the original. That was just because I waited until the night before it was due to start. My inspiration was delayed but I’m still very happy with the work I made.
